Useful tip:
Root desktop wallpaper

Root desktop wallpaper

if you would like to be reminded when you are logged in as 'root' -
like SuSE and Mandrake Linuxes do -
you might like to consider using the freely available
"bomb" wallpaper on a red background...

This is what it will look like on your Linspire desktop...

1. First step is to go and fetch the graphic - which because it is repeated (tiled) across the desktop is quite small... right click on the image and select save as, pointing to where you would like to save it. The ideal location would be /usr/share/wallpaper/ which is where all the wallpaper is located...

The actual location of this file is at
http://linspire.homelinux.org/downloads/desktop_wallpaper/otherOS/root-logo.png

2. Right Click on the desktop and select Configure Desktop

Select Background, and choose red for Color 1 (it will be defaulted to dark blue).

3. Set this new wallpaper as being currently used in the normal way through the Control Panel.

If the filename of the bomb (root_logo.png) isn't there, use the Browse button to the right to locate and then select it.

Make sure you select that it is tiled, otherwise you will see just one bomb and one hazard symbol in the middle of the screen!

That's all there is to it... quite straightforward
